Don’t like speeding tickets? I present Trapster. Discuss.

When you see a trap, report it by pressing a button on your phone, or calling a toll free number. Other user's phones will alert them as they approach the trap. Trapster? learns the credibility of traps based on how many users agree. It also learns the credibility of each user, over time.

Why are People so Goddamn Lazy When it Comes to Parking?

Why is it so important for people to get that close parking spot at the store?

Perhaps the most stunning example of this absurd fear of getting rained on occurred as I was leaving. I had my kid and two bags of groceries in the cart, and as I approached my car, which was located about twenty yards from the door, a lady…

Follow That Nudge…

Even though sometimes it doesn’t seem rational. Or convenient. Or comfortable.

A while back, I pulled into a grocery store parking lot and noticed a woman in the car across from me crying. Bawling, actually. I immediately wondered what was wrong…Did she lose someone she loved? Did she have kids and did something…

GT competition to put GT5 Prologue player in real race

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, and Nissan are joining forces to host a competition that could place a really good gamer behind the seat of a real Nissan 350Z at a very real 24-hour endurance race in Dubai.

A friend of mine got very good at Gt3 and GT4, playing night and day until he got his (real) driver's license. I, instead, autocrossed and tracked for 3 years. I let him co-drive my car and he beat my time (and I'm really…

Confirmed! Bureaucrats have no sense of humor

The fun police attack…yet again.

lame, isn't a strong enough word. MORON doesn't aptly describe our bureaucrats since almost all of them at the state level are under investigation - from the governor on down. the response from the community has been great to the stop…

GM Says Americans Won’t Give Up SUVs, But They’ll Plug Them

Bob Lutz says the future of the automobile can be summed up in two words: Proportion and propulsion. That’s a snappy way of saying big cars aren’t going anywhere, but at least they’ll be electric.

I think it rather funny to hear the obsolete logic of some environmetnalists from the 70's, who feel that only small is efficient and that we must be efficient to amange. Both concepts are fraud - an electric car's efficiency depends…

Somebody give this kid a copy of GTA IV

A seven-year-old boy has been charged with grand theft auto after stealing his grandmother’s SUV so he could “take it on a high speed chase”. Needless to say, GTA IV would have surely been able to quell this kid’s desire.

The boy hit four cars, two in a supermarket car park and two moving vehicles on a busy street in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, as well as post boxes and signposts before crashing into a ditch.

16 Ultra High-Performance Supercars [PICS]

Most often, supercars are designed and built to break performance records. As an example, the SSC Ultimate Aero TT was designed with one purpose in mind: to set production car speed records.

At 253 MPH, the Bugatti Veyron was the first supercar to beat out the McLaren F1 for top production car speed in over a decade. However, it only held that title until 2007 when it was beat out by the SSC Ultimate Aero TT. Nonetheless, it still…

What Ansel Adams Saw Through His Lens

Adams first visited Yosemite in 1916 when he was 14 years old. On that trip, he hopped up on a tree stump to take a photo of Half Dome, then stumbled, headfirst, and accidentally pushed the shutter release. The upside-down image remained one of Adamss favorites, he wrote in his autobiography.

The first step on an Ansel Adams-inspired trip to Yosemite is to visit the gallery run by his family. It is in the park’s central area called Yosemite Valley, and displays and sells Adams’s work as well as photos taken by…
