Digg Nearly Triples Registered Users In a Year, Says Sleuth

The last time Digg officially announced how many registered users it has was back in March when it passed the one-million mark. Digg user profile pages to come up with an estimate of 2.7 million registered Digg users.

I would say a large amount of new accounts over the last couple years are splogger/scraper/spammers that are trying to game the system. I know there were some blackhat initiatives off-and-on during that time frame trying to game their system….
