Movie Review - ‘Hancock’

Will Smith has played superhero many times in his career, saving very average movies from launching headlong into oblivion based on his charisma and charm. But this is the first time he’s played a real superhero…and the results are mixed at best.

Hancock is the only one of his kind. We are not peopled with too many superheroes. In fact, unlike the worlds of Superman and Batman, where cities like Gotham and Metropolis fill in for New York, Hancock takes place today in Los Angeles, a city…

Review: Star Wars Duel of the Fates Diorama

Its no secret that Sideshow Collectibles line of Star Wars dioramas is completely awesome. The latest in this stellar series is the Duel of the Fates statues, spotlighting the epic battle between Obi-Wan Kenobi, Qui-Gon Jinn, and Darth Maul from the end of The Phantom Menace.

As awesome as the statue is, the Qui-Gon and Darth Maul figures make me a little nervous. Through miraculous feats of engineering, physics, and Jedi sorcery, Darth Maul is completely supported by the foot he has planted in…

Google Street View captures intrepid daredevil in mid-stunt.

He spots the Googlemobile cruising down his street, and decides his patented bicycle skid and turn manouvre should be executed, maybe with the objective of sending a small puff of dust into the eyes of the unsuspecting driver.

Although I think you are probably right about the time sesquencing, I think a more interesting and entertaining possability is… That in a moment of desperation after screwing up the skid and turn he decides to attempt yet another stunt….

The Passover Plot - God’s Intelligently Designed Mass Murder

Today is Passover, a religious festival celebrating the mass murder of every non-Jewish “firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast.” And the murderer is God himself.

Thank you Steve for taking the time to spell all this out. I knew bits and pieces of the story and thought Passover was a pretty barbaric notion, but never realized just how horrible the whole thing was until your summary. Jason, you said:…

Study finds teens don’t really care about their hearing

Those darn kids — they just don’t listen! And soon, according to a report, they won’t physically be able to listen. It seems that modern teens, with their cloaking jackets, space telephones, and telepathic headsets fail to obey the simplest tenet of leisure-time music enjoyment: keeping their iPod and Zune volumes at a semi-natural level.

Additionally: “Seconded. People think that there's some kind of bonus in the afterlife for having full hearing ability. It's the same with drinking and the occasional cigar (and what about those people who practice abstinence?…

12 Tips To Make The Front Page of the “NEW” Digg

I am sure you have read or listened to the hoopla going on over at Digg, If you havent to sum it up, Digg wants to even the playing field by tweaking the algorithm so that every submitter not just users with a lot of active friends can make the homepage.

I’d just like to say though, that there are SEOs out that who put time, effort and sometimes money to get a high-quality article printed for their clients’ sites and Digg is a place where articles like that belong both for…

The Lost Towns of Russia

Photographers in the former Soviet Union seem to really enjoy taking pictures of abandoned buildings, and thats a lucky thing, considering how many of them they have. Lets take a look at some of their work (absolutely the envy of wannabe urban explorers like myself)

My fiancee is fascinated by abandoned buildings. His family used to drive past one out in the country when they went into one of the larger towns; he told me he always thought that Swamp Thing would live somewhere like that.

2007 TU24 - Told Ya So

Contrary to the bleatings of the conspiracy nuts, the asteroid is already moving away from us, and nothing has happened.

DO not mean to bust your bubble, but here on Guam I’d visually observed a large number of near and distant , big and small? luminious fireballs occur before and during TU24’s passage, to include one fireball which broke into sections…
