Digg users cannot form lasting relationships?

A generation growing up with social networking websites such as Facebook and Digg are unable to form lasting relationships and are at increased risk of behaving impulsively, an expert has warned.

Teenagers who were born in 1990 or later have never known a world where you can't surf online and could have a distorted view of the world and their own identity because of that, the Annual Meeting of the Royal College of Psychiatrists heard….

A Flashy Facebook Page, at a Cost to Privacy

Facebook fanatics who have covered their profiles on the popular social networking site with silly games and quirky trivia quizzes may be unknowingly giving a host of strangers an intimate peek at their lives.

Each site has come up with its own policies on the data that developers are allowed to see. MySpace, the largest social network, with 110 million members, said developers can see users' public details — name, profile picture and…

Yahoo hack exposes Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan [PICS]

Silicon Valley’s widget frenzy is coming at the cost of your privacy. Yahoo and MySpace have linked up to let you see your profile — in fact, anybody’s profile, including Paris Hilton’s and Lindsay Lohan’s. Valleywag has the pics to prove it.

This points to a flaw in the notion of data portability, a movement which seeks to have personal information shared between social networks and other websites. Data portability was borne out of a wrongheaded assumption: That data needs to be…

Sweet Dreams Are Made Of These

Dreams are an important part of our lives whether we remember them or not. They help us to release the unconscious thoughts that are cluttering our thinking process. Dreaming is a way to help us release unnecessary garbage so we don’t go stir crazy, because if we don’t dream we can literally go nuts.

I?m a little confused because this sounds like you were sleeping as always but experiencing a form of outer body exposure. This sounds like an Astroplane which allows one to feel like they are floating but also seeing everyone they know through a…

Facebook can ruin your life. And so can MySpace, Bebo…

People will post just about anything on social networking sites. And the information can be used against them. Suddenly, those saucy pictures and intimate confessions on social networking sites can be taken down and used in evidence against you in ways never dreamed of.

Just ask the 27 workers at the Automobile Club of Southern California fired for messages about colleagues on their MySpace sites; the Florida sheriff’s deputy whose MySpace page revealed his heavy drinking and fascination with female breasts…

Your MySpace Web Browser Is Coming

Flock, the Mozilla-based social web browser has made the announcement that everyone has been waiting for: they will now integrate with MySpace. Building on the MySpace Developer Platform, Flock will allow users to surf the web with their MySpace friends in their sidebar. This integration will expose all of the . . .

I don’t blame Flock. It’s MySpace’s fault for being so far behind the curve. I wonder if the boys over at Fox/NewsCorp just took this long to get all the crappy program code sorted out to be able to switch themes on the dashboard, send…

January 30th is International Delete Your MySpace Day

PLease no more myspace. . . .

I am reminded of another startup that would be perfectly suited to giving MySpace the message to shape up or ship out: The Point (see the Mashable Conversations podcast from the week before Christmas). Sure, a Facebook group could be started for…
